In the upcoming NCIS prequel series, NCIS: Origins, Sean Harmon, who brilliantly portrayed young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the main show, has been recast with Austin Stowell taking on the role. While it’s unclear why Harmon didn’t return, potential reasons include his busy schedule with other acting and stunt coordination projects. CBS may have also opted for a fresh face to bring a new perspective to the character. Despite the recasting, Harmon remains involved in the project as a co-executive producer alongside his father, Mark Harmon.
